NSW PWC SETUP/PACKUP PENALTY SYSTEM

Hi Racers,

Due to the amount of work involved with holding our events, from Round 1 2022 the committee have been asking for volunteers to assist with the set up and pack up of the day from fellow racers.

We haven’t had many racers volunteer, unfortunately we had to make the hard decision for Round 2 2022 to randomly select riders for assistance, most did their part but some slipped through the cracks.

For all events we will cut off entries mid week which will allow us more time to finalise and post rider entry lists, score sheets, race day schedules and randomly select riders to assist the committee on race day, giving those racers enough notice of their duties.

Riders will be allocated for Setup or Pack Up by Friday 6pm. Morning set up commences at 6am sharp on beachfront. Please meet the rest of the committee and ensure your name is marked off the roster list on arrival appx 545am.

The committee struggles to get out of bed early to be there at 545am to set up the day for everyone, and all before they set up their own tents, gear and ski’s, so don’t try to use this as an excuse !

Jobs include but aren’t limited to set up medic tent, set up scorers table, chairs, esky, chain off scorers exclusion zone, take flags to race director area, take chain and buoy’s out of trailer and onto shore line, set up tinny and motor on shore line, unpack radios, set up generator and PA, set up registration area in carpark with table and paperwork container, set up start gates, assisting the track set up crew at 7am with distributing buoy’s via the club skis and tinny. Afternoon pack up commences immediately after the last race has finished.

Please meet the rest of the committee and ensure your name is marked off the roster list on arrival.

The committee is also exhausted after racing as you are, some have been there since early set up, you won’t be the only one feeling tired, sore, wearing wet gear and packing up your own ski’s, tents and gear when everyone else has left.

Jobs include but aren’t limited to packing up medic tent, pack up scorers table, chairs, esky, remove the scorers exclusion zone, remove flags and 1-2 start boards from race director area, assisting the track pack up crew with bringing in buoy’s via the club skis and tinny, take chain and buoy’s from shoreline back to trailer, pack up radios, pack up generator and PA, pack up start gates, pack up tinny and motor, load the club skis onto trailer. There will be penalties for those who don’t show up, forget, lose track of time, go home, chat or hide in the carpark, toilets and boatramp. The NSW PWC Committee has voted in favor for the below penalty:

If you are allocated to help in the morning and you don’t, you will not be allowed to race that day and race fees will not be refunded. If you are allocated to help in the afternoon and you don’t, your allocation will roll over to the next race event and you will be assigned as morning set up crew. If you don’t help as morning set up crew after your rolled allocation, you will not be allowed to race that day and race fees will not be refunded.

All the NSW PWC committee members are volunteers, we are NOT paid for what we do. It takes numerous hours, if not days, in the lead up to and after race days that are taken away from our work, business’s, family and friends to put on these events for everyone to enjoy. We are asking for 1 – 2 hours of your time over the season to help us in return. You will not be rostered on consecutive events.
